Gerard Pique has added yet another football club to his collection
Pique, via his company Kosmos, will become the new owners of Gimnastic Manresa
Gerard Piqué, through his Kosmos company, has acquired a new club. As revealed by SPORT a few weeks ago, Gimnastic de Manresa will become the second football team, after Andorra FC, to fall under the Barça defender's management. The shareholders meeting held by Gimnastic last Friday approved the sale of the club to Kosmos.
According to the vice president of Gimnastic, Jordi Mas, 80% of shareholders attended the meeting which decided to accept the offer from Pique. Mas told 'NacioManresa' that there were minor details still to be ironed out but that the deal was essentially complete.
Once everything has been confirmed, Gimnastic Manresa will become an affiliate of FC Andorra and its academy. The same information suggests FC Andorra's director of football attended the shareholder's meeting. The new project will include the relaying of the pitch and improving its training facilities over the next five years.
The progress to finalise the sale will begin on Monday.
