The defender and RFEF chief's messages were hacked and are being leaked

Gerard Pique and Luis Rubiales’s leaked audios have revealed a lot about the relationship between them and how the Spanish Super Cup was taken to Saudi Arabia.

In new leaks from El Confidential the Barcelona captain re-sent a message from Sergio Ramos to Rubiales, which included some criticism to the president of the RFEF, accusing him of working in the shadows to undermine the work of AFE (Spanish footballers association) chief David Aganzo.

“Rubi, this message was sent to me by Sergio Ramos, keep this for you, it’s confidential,” wrote Pique in May 2020.

The Barcelona player was looking for support to oust Aganzo and turned to Ramos, but the then Madrid player replied saying he had no intention of coming down on either side.

"I know the relationship that Rubi and Aganzo have had and they were close brothers, come on, they went everywhere together and so on. And what happens? That when Rubi presented himself for the presidency of the Federation, well, the other (Aganzo) put in the AFE. What happens? That each one, in the end, when he sees himself in a good position, and with power, wants to rule in his way," Sergio Ramos starts saying.

“What's the matter? That Rubi had three or four there in the AFE who told him everything, even when Aganzo was president. So he took them and threw them out. From there the war began and now he wants to kill it, because Rubi wants to rule in the Federation and in the AFE."

Ramos did not want to get involved, but he revealed an uncomfortable episode with the president of the AFE.

"So, this is also a very sensitive issue, Geri. And I with Aganzo, obviously, I've already told you, the relationship was correct and professional for belonging to the union and defending the interests of the players. But I don't have anything with him either and after the ugly thing he did to me I have given up on him. I think this is not our issue, it is an issue... Are we asking for the resignation of an AFE president with Rubiales really behind it? I don’t know, I think that here it is their issue so that they can solve it among themselves.”

After the message, Rubiales responded with a message in a not too friendly tone: "You don't need to send me anything because it wasn't the time to talk to Sergio in my opinion."
