Gerard Pique equals Carles Puyol in Europe
The Barca centre back matched his former partner in terms of appearances
Gerard Pique has matched Carles Puyol’s record in Europe and got a goal to celebrate it in the 1-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv.
They were Barcelona’s best centre-back pairing in history, with Puyol teaching Pique what he knew.
Now Pique has 120 appearances in the Champions League for Barca, the same as Puyol. He will surpass him in the away trip to Kyiv most likely.
Pique is now battling Busquets, who ha the fourth most with 122 appearances. Iniesta is third with 132, Xavi is first with 157 and Messi is second with 149.
