Gerard Pique and Joan Laporta getting along in Lisbon
The defender has a good relationship with the Barça chief and it shows
Barcelona have arrived in Lisbon. Ronald Koeman’s team landed at 7.30pm Spain time in the Portuguese capital and have headed to their hotel, the Epic Sana, near the city centre.
A couple dozen fans received the team there. Barcelona are playing at the stadium where they lost 8-2 to Bayern, little over a year ago.
Pedri and Ansu Fati were the players most cheered for by fans.
One of the more interesting images was that of Gerard Pique and Joan Laporta. The second captain and club president spoke and were affectionate with each other as they headed into a hotel lift. It shows they have a good relationship.
Barcelona did not want to train at the Estadio da Luz before the game but will have an activation session at the Portuguese football federation’s facilities.
