Gerard Deulofeu has been left out of Barcelona's squad for the match against Sporting Club in Lisbon on Wednesday, the second game in this season's Champions League.
The absence of Deulofeu was the biggest news when Ernesto Valverde revealed his side for the match at the Estadio Jose Alvarade.
Deulofeu, therefore, is left out for the second game running. He did not even to travel to Girona at the weekend, although he did make the trip to Lisbon on Tuesday.
Everything, therefore, suggested he would at least be on the bench against Sporting, if not starting, but he was left out at the last minute.
Instead, Valverde opted to start Sergi Roberto, while Aleix Vidal is named among the substitutes.
Deulofeu was last seen against Eibar, when he was taken off for Vidal in the second half. Speaking about him on Tuesday, Valverde spoke about it being a mental issue and the need for something to drop Deulofeu's way for his form to kick on.
