Gelson Martins' agent will be at Camp Nou for Barça game
Ulisses Santos says there's interest across Europe
He has a good relationship with Robert Fernandez
Gelson Martins' form has not gone unnoticed by Europe's biggest clubs. And there are various teams following the Sporting Club forward.
His agent, Ulisses Santos, has told SPORT as much: "He's a player with a lot suitors. There are a lot of clubs interested in him, from La Liga, the Premier League and the Bundesliga."
Asked if Barça are one of them, Santos didn't want to give details, but left the door open: "I know the people at Barça well. I know [sporting director] Robert Fernandez. I will be at Camp Nou on Tuesday."
Martins signed a new deal with Sporting until 2022 recently with a 60 million euro buyout clause. But his agent doesn't rule out an exit if a good offer comes in.
"As a professional, Gelson has to be ready to leave at any moment or to stay," he added. "He plays for the national team and he wants to win titles. Clubs in Portugal have less financial power and need to balance things, be that with transfers of television rights."
In this sense, he believe the Portuguese winger "is ready" to move to a big club: "He is a phenomenal player and I don't think he's inferior to other players that have left Sporting, like Figo, Simao, Qauresma and Nani."
