The Catalan club are asking Frenkie de Jong to take a pay cut on his deferred salary

Former Valencia manager Gary Neville continued his criticism of Barcelona on Twitter, lashing out at the Catalans over their treatment of Frenkie de Jong - asking the Dutchman to take a pay cut.

"I actually don’t care if he signs for United or not!” wrote Neville. “However, it has highlighted a situation I’ve always been passionate about which is employers/clubs taking the piss out of workers/players and not paying them their due money! Barca are a disgrace to their great name!"

Neville was famously in charge of Valencia as they were swatted 7-0 by Barcelona in the Copa del Rey in February 2016 and was sacked in the weeks that followed.
