Garcia Pimienta: A squad needs the order that Xavi speaks of
The former Barca B coach agrees with the new man's approach and ideas
If there’s a word Xavi Hernandez repeated in his presentation it was ‘rules’. He has clear ideas and wants the players to obey them.
He wants the squad to turn up an hour and a half before training, breakfast there, and eat there afterwards too, following the club nutritionist’s rules.
Garcia Pimienta, the former Barca B coach, spoke to Cadena SER about Xavi. “A squad needs the order that Xavi says, the discipline. You have to mark out exactly what you can do and what not, not more or less.”
In terms of fines for misbehaviour, he added: “The player needs to know that the player he can arrive at latest, the hour he can go, what he has to eat. If you don’t do that you let everyone do what they want and sometimes they do it badly, even without intending to.”
