Frenkie de Jong played 90 minutes for Holland in their win over Poland, which wasn't enough to get them into the Nations League final four after Italy beat Bosnia and won the group.
The Barca midfielder analysed the situation on social media. "Disappointed for not having reached the final four but happy for at least winning the last game of the year with the national team," wrote De Jong on Twitter.
He will be back in Barca training on Thursday ahead of the clash with Atletico Madrid on Saturday. With Sergio Busquets injured, he will guaranteed a start, likely alongside Miralem Pjanic in the double pivot.
