Frenkie De Jong is "very happy" to begin a new chapter at Barça
Following the match against Utrech, De Jong explained how disappointed he was that neither Ajax nor Barça could win the treble this season
Frenkie De Jong is beginning to think about the next chapter of his career at FC Barcelona. Ajax are on the verge of completing a league and cup double after beating Utrecht 4-1 at the weekend. The midfielder admitted that he had watched the semi-final involving his future side. "Yes, I saw Liverpool-Barça."
De Jong was asked about the role he expects to have at the Camp Nou next season. "I don't know. It's a shame that if the match at been a little different, Barça would've been in the final and could've won the treble."
Although the eliminations of both his current team Ajax and future side Barça were disappointing, De Jong said: "Either way, I'm going there very happy."
He called Ajax's season "fantastic" despite being unable to overcome Tottenham and keep their own treble hopes alive.
