Franck Kessie is now not a player Barca want to sell
A twist in the script in the Franck Kessié case at Barça. The Blaugrana club no longer intends to sell the midfielder, as the sporting department considers that his profile is different to the rest of the players in the squad and does not want to sell an asset with a high valuation. Kessié will not be exchanged for Brozovic and would only leave if a big bucks offer arrives that all parties cannot refuse, something that has not happened so far.
Kessié was on the transfer list at the beginning of the planning sessions. Xavi Hernández was willing to sacrifice him in order to generate income and thus be able to bring in players. But since Deco's arrival, the situation has been changing. The new sporting director considers that he is a good player, with a long contract in force.
Kessié's entourage already knows the new scenario and are ready to accept the challenge because the player has always been keen to stay at Camp Nou. In fact, they were not too keen to accept a departure, although they were open to listen to proposals as long as they had the power to decide.
The Kessié folder, for now, is solved, although not completely closed and put away. That's because Barça will listen to proposals for most players, but in the case of the midfielder, his sale would only be for more than 35 million euros. And that can only happen if a Premier League team comes in, something that has not happened so far.
