Franck Kessie latest Barcelona player to pick up a muscle injury
The midfielder came off in the 4-2 win over Viktoria Plzen on Tuesday
Approaching the 65th minute of the 4-2 win over Viktoria Plzen, Barcelona midfielder Franck Kessie was forced off with a thigh injury. He requested medical assistance immediately but was able to exit the pitch on foot, albeit limping.
Speaking after the game, coach Xavi Hernandez said Kessi's injury, to his hamstring, did not look good and the player was really upset.
Pending further tests on the midfielder, it remains to be seen how serious it is but it looks like he won't feature again before the World Cup.
Kessie, who had returned to the starting lineup, started in the pivot position.
