Forward Ousmane Dembele late for Barcelona training once again
The Frenchman was 15 minutes late at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper
Ousmane Dembele played his first minutes of the new season on Sunday in the win against Villarreal but was back in the spotlight on Monday for the wrong reasons when he turned up late to training.
Dembele came on in the second half against Villarreal for his first competitive appearance since last November. Little bu little he is gathering the necessary rhythm and Barcelona hope he can finally take off in his fourth season at the club.
However, things haven't started well as on Monday he once again turned up late for a training session.
The players are due in one hour before training, as was the case under Luis Enrique but not under Valverde and Setien. Dembele, used to the old routines, turned up 15 minutes late, as revealed by Cuatro's cameras. Images also showed him using his mobile phone.
It is not the first time Dembele has arrived late. In fact, he has had various problems in this sense, along with injuries, since he arrived at Barça. A lot has been spoken about him playing video games until the early hours and for a poor diet for a professional footballer.
That has all been left behind, though, and his attitude in training and desire to succeed at Barça has been first class. Monday's lateness is seen as an oversight without importance -- and there may have been a reason -- but it has made news because of his past.
