The talented midfielder refuses to retire from the game and is hopeful of playing until he's nearly 40

Yaya Toure (37-years-old) isn't ready to retire from football just yet. The former Barça, Monaco and Manchester City midfielder wants to play for another two years and that's why he turned up at Leyton Orient's training ground in order to prove his fitness. Orient are currently in League Two, England's fourth tier. Yaya is available on a free transfer after helping Huanghai earn promotion to China's Super League last December.

The player wore the club's official training gear in a surprise appearance last Friday. He is working on his fitness and will begin ball work on Monday as he awaits finding a new club. “The manager and the staff were fantastic in allowing me to come train with the lads. It’s a huge opportunity. I’m very happy. The welcome was fantastic," Yaya said following his return to England.

“I just want to enjoy it until the last minute. Football, for me, is everything. I’ve been out of football for the last three months with the lockdown and I was thinking I missed something. It’s difficult. I feel like I’m at home. I want to train and do my best, and maybe we’ll see."

Yaya was linked with a move to Brazilian side Botafogo in February before the coronavirus outbreak ended any chance of the negotiations progressing.
