Thomas Vermaelen is hoping to continue his professional career with Olympiacos. According to 'AS', the defender has received an offer from the Greek side and a deal could go through should he pass a medical.
Despite his poor injury reckon, Olmpiacos value the quality of the centre back highly. He rose to fame at Arsenal before joining FC Barcelona. Whilst his performances were rarely anything other than good, he didn't manage to make many squads due to constant injury problems.
Vermaelen spent the 2016/17 season on loan at Roma but they didn't make an offer to keep the Belgian beyond those 12 months. Barça decided against offering him a short term deal and decided to let him leave on a free transfer this summer.
