The midfielder, who currently plays for Al-Sadd, believes it is up to Xavi to decide when he wants to return to his former club

Former Atletico Madrid captain, Gabi Fernandez, is currently in Qatar sharing a dressing room with Barça legend Xavi Hernandez. He spoke to 'El Larguero' last night about the meeting which took place between Eric Abidal and Xavi Hernandez in January.

"Everything was a bit of a circus. The image that Barcelona gave during these types of situations doesn't make Xavi look bad, but it looks bad for all of the 'Barcelonismo'."

Gabi recalls the moment he found out about Barça's attempts to lure Xavi away from the team. "We didn't know anything until he mentioned that Barça came for him and he's turned he down to stay with us."

It feels like a question of when, not if, Xavi will return to Barcelona but Gabi feels only one person can make that decision. "It'll be Xavi who decides when it's time to go back to Barcelona."
