The two Liga sides have a lot of big players present in the nominations

Barcelona are kings in Spain, Madrid in Europe, over the last few years, and the two clubs are doing battle again in the FIFPro awards.

The two sides have a lot of players nominated by FIFA to be in their team of the year, more than any other clubs including Man City and PSG.

Barça have Ter Stegen, Yerry Mina (now at Everton), Piqué, Umtiti, Alba, Busquets, Iniesta, Rakitic, Messi, Suárez and Coutinho on the list. Sergi Roberto is the big absence. A full XI.

Arturo Vidal is also on the list, although he was at Bayern Munich last season.

At Madrid the candidates are Keylor, Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo: Casemiro, Kroos, Modric; Isco, Benzema, Cristiano. Surprisingly there is no Gareth Bale, who finished last season at a high level and scored in the Champions League final.

Thibaut Courtois, Madrid's new signing, is also on the list - and he will do battle with his club-mate Navas.
