Fenerbahçe join the race for Paco Alcácer

The Turkish team join Southampton as they look to save Alcacer from his Barcelona hell

The amount of teams interested in Paco Alcacer is growing by the day and the latest one to add to the list comes from Turkey. Fenerbahce want to bring the former Valencia striker in after they were made aware that Barcelona are open to selling him this summer.

In Turkey they are certain that Fenerbahce have overtaken Southampton in the race to sign the striker. The main motive behind this, according to 'Sporx', is the good relationship Jose Maria Bartomeu has with his opposite number at Fenerbahce, Ali Koc. Ali is also involved with Beko, one of Barcelona's sponsors, and this means that a move to Turkey could favour the Barcelona president.

Southampton, according to the English media, have offered Barcelona €20m for Alcacer. This type of offer is something which interests both the club and the player, who is looking for more regular playing time, after spending two years at Barcelona where he's largely had a bit-part role.
