Barça's presidential elections will take place on the 20th & 21st March
Due to the ongoing pandemic, votes can be cast at several locations and postal votes will be accepted
FC Barcelona's Board of Directors have been locked in meetings all day and have made some important decisions on the immediate future of the club.
The first piece of news is the date for the new presidential elections at Barça. They will take place over the 20th and 21st of March 2021. The club said in a statement: "In order to safeguard everyone’s health and encourage participation, the Board has decided that these elections can be held throughout the whole weekend and at various sites around the territory, and that postal votes shall be permitted."
It’s important to remember that on the weekend commencing the 20th March, Barça will face Real Sociedad in San Sebastian. It couldn’t have been arranged for a week when Barcelona were playing at home because it would clash with the Easter holidays.
Ordinary General Assembly of Delegate Members
The directors have also decided on the date for the Ordinary General Assembly of Delegate Members will be on the on October 25, the weekend of El Clásico against Real Madrid. If the pandemic restrictions at the time don’t allow for gatherings to take place, the meeting will be postponed until it is safe and possible to do so.
