At Barça, he won two Ligas, two Spanish Super Cups and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups, but it was at Inter Milan where he achieved sporting immortality

The football world mourns the death of Luis Suárez Miramontes (La Coruña, 1935). The former Spanish footballer and coach died on Sunday at the age of 88, as announced by Inter Milan, the club where he spent his best years on the pitch and with whom he won two European Championships.

Luis Suárez, the first Spanish player (and so far the only one) to win the Ballon d'Or (1960), played seven seasons at FC Barcelona, where he scored 141 goals in 253 games. During that time he won two La Liga titles, two Spanish Cups and two Inter-Cities Fairs Cups, in addition to the individual award for the best footballer of the world.

It was at Inter Milan, however, where he achieved sporting glory. At the San Siro, coached by Helenio Herrera, he lifted three 'Scudetti', two Intercontinental Cups and two European Cups.
