The English club would include an option to buy for next summer

Arsenal remain interested in signing Barcelona forward Malcom but their offer is a long way short of what the Catalan club and the player want, according to British outlet the Express.

The Premier League side have offered Barça to take Malcom on loan for the season with an option to buy next summer, but the Spanish champions want a transfer to finance their own signings.

The report claims Barça want 50 million pounds (55.7 million euros) for the 22-year-old, who they signed from Bordeaux last year for 41 million.

Meanwhile, The Sun has published that Malcom's agents were in London last week for a meeting with Arsenal but that they're a long way from an agreement.

One of the problems is that Unai Emery, the Arsenal coach, has a limited budget for signings this summer, around 45 million pounds. It's also a problem for Arsenal to match Malcom's salary requests.

Arsenal are not in the Champions League next season and their finances have been hit as a result. They are in competition with Everton for the signing of the Brazilian.
