The forward spoke exclusively to the newspaper from Spain's camp in Madrid

Ferran Torres opened up to SPORT in an interview at the Spanish national team's training camp in Las Rozas.

The Barcelona player explained where the nickname of 'The Shark' comes from, "which I like a lot," and how he has worked on all aspects of his game ad preparation to gain the trust of both Xavi and Luis de la Fuente.

This is a preview of the interview, which in a few hours you will be able to read in full, in which he comments that "even though they say The Shark is the new Ferran, it's a little bit of the mentality I have always had, which is reflected on the pitch."

In this sense, he considers that the character of a fighter, with which he is associated with the nickname, sums up "something very important as is the invisible training. People only see the Ferran of the 90 minutes on the pitch. Nobody knows what goes behind the scenes, the hours of training, the hours of training with physical trainers, the hours of psychologists, the hours of rest, the diet."

In short, The Shark is "based on the Ferran that I am, the discipline that I have, the mentality that I have, the competitiveness and always wanting to be the best."

Analysis

Ferran talks in depth about complex issues such as the importance of "mental health" and the tools that have helped him improve.

In the full interview, he also explains where the nickname first came from and many more experiences, such as the summer he had, his desire to succeed at Barça and his relationship with Robert Lewandowski.
