Espanyol midfielder Esteban Granero responded to Gerard Pique's provocation after the defender shushed Espanyol fans after scoring the goal to tie Sunday's Catalan derby at 1-1.
"His gesture didn't wind us up but when you provoke you can't then ask for respect. It was a clean and competitive game. Before the gesture it was clean but later it got more wild. On our part we will not get into this game or provocations, we respect everyone."
Granero added: "Everyone is responsible for their actions and suffers the consequences. When you want them to respect you, you should show respect. That's what happens to most Bracelona players, who get applauded wherever they go. Look at Andres Iniesta. For others it's not like that and that's a result of their own behaviour."
