Ernesto Valverde's six untouchables at FC Barcelona so far this season
Certain players have been leaned on more than others in difficult circumstances
Barcelona have made a slow start to the season marked by injuries (Messi, Dembélé, Suárez, Alba, Umtiti...) and a busy preseason schedule which followed the Copa America for some players.
Those circumstances have conditioned results, especially away from Camp Nou. Saturday's win at Getafe was Barça's first away from home this season.
In this context, Ernesto Valverde has turned to six players to form his side's spine. Of those six, only two of them have played all 720 minutes so far this season: Ter Stegen and Pique.
Lenglet was in that bracket, too, until he was sent off at Getafe. He will be replaced by Jean Clair Todibo this weekend against Sevilla in all likelihood as he served a ban.
Semedo has started seven of the right games, too, appearing in all eight, while De Jong and Griezmann are also among those players who have appeared in all eight matches. De Jong has appeared as a substitute once, while Griezmann's started all eight games.
Busquets and Sergi Roberto have also played a lot in midfield but have suffered because of the options in their position. They have competition from Arthur, Vidal, Aleña and Rakitic.
