The Barca coach spoke about the Ghanaian forward who arrived on Monday
Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde spoke about Kevin Prince Boateng, the club's new loan signing from Sassuolo.
"He's a player who knows the job," said Valverde. "Although he's not had a career as a No 9, now he is playing there. He knows La Liga, the role that he will be used in and he was one of the possibilities for the club to get. If Munir was here, he wouldn't be here. We thought that he was the best situation from now until the end of the season. He's a strong player and we hope he will help us. He knows his role and he can give us a hand."
The Barca coach added that Boateng "was active, so he can play now, he will adapt well to what we wanted. My participation in the decision? Well I was informed from the start how things were going."
Boateng can play in various roles. "That he's versatile and can feature in various positions is good, but we brought him here because now he's playing in this specific role (striker), in case there's any set-backs with Luis Suarez."
