Ernesto Valverde: Madrid are just as dangerous with Solari
The Barcelona coach spoke about the new Madrid appointment after Lopetegui's sacking
Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde says Real Madrid are just as dangerous with Santiago Solari at the helm.
The Argentine was appointed on an interim basis after Julen Lopetegui was sacked on Monday.
“I have nothing to say about the statements of other clubs, the only thing is what I said before, I don’t like it when coaches are sacked,” said Valverde to reporters ahead of Barcelona’s Copa del Rey tie against Cultural Leonesa.
However he later aded, on Solari’s arrival: “Madrid are just as dangerous. They’re a candidate to win everything, just like us.”
Valverde continued: “In a big club there are no transition seasons. Madrid will try to put themselves back together, like we would do. They’re in all the competitions, it’s early in La Liga, we’ve played a quarter of it and there’s a long way to go. Madrid will try to win the league, like us.”
