Ernesto Valverde moves closer to Barcelona each day that passes. Not just because of the speculation that surrounds him but for the fact that Juan Carlos Unzue's chances of replacing Luis Enrique have diluted in recent days.
The Athletic Bilbao coach spoke on Friday to the media ahead of the game against Leganes, potentially his last at the San Mames.
"I don't know if it's my goodbye," he said. "I don't know. I'm not saying anything is closed off.
"I'm only thinking about beating Leganes and that will not be easy. I'm the coach of the first team and I have a fluid relationship with the president and we talk about everything."
It should be remembered that the chief, Urrutia, said recently that Valverde's continuity is in the air and he may not continue at the end of his contract.
