The striker scored twice against Valencia but hasn't scored in three games since

Ernesto Valverde played down Luis Suarez's poor form after the striker was jeered by sections of Camp Nou during Tuesday's win over Villarreal.

Suarez has failed to score in his last three starts but the Barcelona coach put that down to fitness issues and insists he's not worried.

"Suarez has only played a few games this season because he was out injured for four weeks," Valverde said. "He still needs fine-tuning because he's been injured, but now there's not much training time at the moment.

"What he needs to do, in that sense, needs to be done on the go, on the pitch, it's similar with (Ousmane) Dembele. And Leo (Messi).

"They have to get back to match fitness but, like all goal scorers, when the goals come, they come in a run. When they don't come, it seems like a dip. We hope he keeps on giving a lot to the team, like always."

Suarez scored twice off the bench in his first game back against Valencia two weeks ago and is expected to lead the line at Getafe on Saturday in the absence of Lionel Messi.
