Emerson: I'm already thinking about playing with Leo Messi
The Brazilian defender will join Barcelona in July after a loan at Real Betis
Emerson is looking forward to his future as a Barcelona player. The young right-back spoke about the chance to play with Lionel Messi.
“Until now I imagined that it was something not real but now I’m thinking about playing with Messi,” said Emerson.
“For me he’s a fantastic player, one of the best in the world. It’s something incredible and now I will try to enjoy the big opportunity I’m getting.
“I can only say I am very happy with the transfer. It’s something that you dream of as kids and now it’s happening. It’s also a moment to be grateful to Atletico Mineiro and the national team (U20s) because they gave me the chance to show what I can do with my job.”
Emerson could hand in Seville next week as he is moving on loan to Betis. It’s a deal with barca that keeps him there to the end of this season.
From July 1 he will join the Catalans, but they may prolong his loan at Betis depending on how he adapts.
