From Emerson to Estanis, Barça have used 33 players in LaLiga
The club have been forced to use more players than expected so far in 21-22
Estanis Pedrola came on for the final minutes as Barceleona beat Mallorca 1-0 on Sunday to become the 33rd player to play for the club in LaLiga this season.
Just minutes earlier, midfielder Alvaro Sanz had become the 32nd as Xavi Hernandez handed debuts to two more B team players.
Circumstances (injuries, suspensions, Covid) have forced Ronald Koeman, Sergi Barjuan and Xavi to turn to youngsters this season.
Koeman bet strongly on Nico and Gavi and Barjuan and Xavi have continued to turn to the academy to help solve a shortage of players at times.
Of the 33, some are no longer at the club, such as Emerson Royal who is now at Tottenham and Antoine Griezmann who is back at Atletico Madrid. Sergio Aguero, meanwhile, has retired.
Sergio Busquets has appeared the most times (18) in LaLiga, followed by Ter Stegen, Nico, Gavi, Piqué and Frenkie De Jong.
Memphis and Araujo come next with 15 games each, followed by Eric, Mingueza, Jordi Alba, Coutinho, Dest, Lenglet, Riqui Puig and Luuk de Jong, who have all played at least 10 league games.
Completing the list are Sergi Roberto, Abde, Demir, Dembélé, Ansu Fati, Balde, Agüero, Jutglà, Braithwaite, Griezmann, Emerson, Neto, Ilias, Pedri, Umtiti, Álvaro Sanz and Estanis.
