The Real Betis player could return and then immediately be sold
Emerson Royal has consolidated himself as Real Betis right back. Barca own 50 per cent of his rights and his loan to Betis ends in June, but it’s not likely he will be in the Catalans’ squad next season.
Barca get him back and the idea will be to sell him, with Premier League sides interested and PSG also a possibility.
Barca invested six million in the Atletico Mineiro player a year ago, they are hoping to get 10m back for him, selling him for a total of 20m, with Betis getting the other 10m.
The player is doing well and he will likely get called up for the Copa America next summer.
Emerson’s idea is to have at least part of the pre-season with Barca to try and convince the coach.
He has played 17 league games and four in the cup this season.
