Edgardo Bauza blasts Barcelona over their treatment of Leo Messi

Edgar Bauza, the Argentina coach, hit out at Barcelona and their medical team for the injury Lionel Messi suffered against Atletico Madrid. The coach lamented the lack of his star for his country’s next two World Cup qualifiers, with Messi out for three weeks. 

Bauza said: “I don’t believe the medical reports from Barcelona, they’re hiding information. In 24 hours I will get the full results, it seems that he has a tear and we won’t be able to use him in either of the two games.”

He continued: “It’s strange to me that at Barcelona he plays all the games, more so with the problems he had. Barcelona send us messages to take care of him, but they don’t take good care of him.

“We all want to look after Messi. We hope he recovers soon and I hope that he’s back playing quickly and I hope we can count on him for the game against Brazil.”
