The Ajax and Holland superstars are both on FC Barcelona's wanted list next summer

Various Holland stars have given their opinion on the futures of Ajax pair Frenkie de Jong and Matthjis de Ligt, both of whom are on Barça's radar. In the unveiling of the Lusail Stadium, Ronald de Boer, Ruud Gullit and Wesley Sneijder spoke about De Jong and De Ligt.

"De Jong is ready to make that step up. The football played in Spain is open and that suits him. We'll need to see what he decides to do. There's also been rumours of PSG making an offer for him. De Ligt is doing really well. He's a centre back, physically strong, and that's why he might suit English football better," Gullit told 'AS'.

"De Jong has a lot of quality but I can't say whether he's ready to play for Barça. The step up to the Spanish league is huge," added Sneijder.

And finally former Barça player himself, Ronald de Boer, said: "They are exceptional players and various elite clubs are after them. They need to remain calm and wait until the end of the season. They've qualified for the next round of the Champions League and have improved a lot. I believe they are ready to make the step up. Football has changed nowadays. When you receive an offer of €75m it's difficult for a club and a player to turn it down."
