The right-back is not in Xavi's plans and is looking for a new club this summer

With two weeks to go until the transfer window closes, FC Barcelona's sporting management, now with Deco at the helm, are working flat out to assemble the squad for this season. In terms of departures, there are two very clear cases: Sergiño Dest and Clément Lenglet. Both of them do not count for Xavi and they are looking for a way out.

According to Dutch news agency 'ED', PSV Eindhoven are interested in signing Dest on loan, although they are not ruling out a permanent signing. In this way, the right-back would return to the Eredivisie, the league he played in before signing for Barça. The Catalan club would save a high salary -- about 11 million euros gross -- which would help to oxygenate the club's accounts.

The American travelled with the first team to the pre-season tour of the United States, waiting to resolve his future. In fact, he played minutes in all the friendly matches, with the exception of the 58th Joan Gamper Trophy against Tottenham.

Dest joined Barça in the summer of 2020 from Ajax for 21 million euros. After two seasons, under the orders of Ronald Koeman and, later, Xavi Hernandez, the defender headed to Serie A to sign on loan for AC Milan. He had a difficult year there and was not been called up by the 'Rossoneri' after January.

Xavi's priority is to sign a right-back, but Dest is not in his plans for the current season. That is why the club is moving with different names in the portfolio, such as Cancelo, Fresneda or Foyth.
