Draw tastes like defeat as Barça's winning run comes to abrupt end

The Blaugrana's winnig streak was ended at seven by Cadiz on Sunday

Barcelona's seven-game winning streak in La Liga came to an abrupt end on Sunday. The Blaugrana hadn't dropped points in La Liga since their final game of 2020 which was curiously also at Camp Nou when they drew against Eibar, another side they should have beaten at home.

The 1-1 draw against Eibar was replicated this weekend against Cadiz, who are the last team to beat Barça in La Liga, as Ronald Koeman's side saw their run of wins ended. The run started away at Huesca with a return to a 4-3-3 system and a goal from Frenkie de Jong, who took on a more attacking role.

The best game on the run was at Granada, a 4-0 win, with two wins against Athletic Bilbao, and victories over Elche, Real Betis and Alaves completing the seven games.

Tastes like a loss

During the seven-game run, Barça scored 19 goals and conceded five. Koeman has the small consolation that Barça are still unbeaten in 12 league games, winning nine and drawing three, but the draw with Cadiz tasted like a loss.
