The difficulty in fitting Sevilla vs Barca back into the calendar
The game will not be happening this weekend because of the slow return of internationals
Spain’s sports council opted in favour of La Liga over the RFEF, postponing Sevilla vs Barcelona this weekend.
The calendar does not leave many spots where the game can be rescheduled, because the Champions League is back.
In October and November there are further international breaks.
Last season Barca’s delayed games from the start of the campaign got played on Jan 6 against Athletic Club (from week 2) and the week one match was on Feb 24, against Elche.
The only hope this time around is 13-14 October of 17-18 November, before December. Wednesday or Thursday, ahead of the weekend games.
Between Tuesday 30 Nov and Thursday Dec 2, Barca have no fixtures but they are Copa del Rey dates and Sevilla will be in the first round.
