Deschamps: "Antoine Griezmann is staying... in Spain!"

While Antoine Griezmann plays cat and mouse regarding his future, saying he will make an announcement this week, France coach Didier Deschamps added some humour to proceedings. 

After France's 1-1 draw against the United States, Deschamps claimed an exclusive on the Atletico Madrid forward's future, although it was quickly apparent he was joking. 

"I have some information," he began. "Griezmann is staying... in Spain." 

Alongside the French boss, Kylian Mbappe was unable to offer any clues on his international teammate's future: "I know he will be on the plane to Russia with us..." 

Meanwhile, Griezmann said "my future will be decided before the Australia game [on Saturday]. That's my wish." 

That's France's debut in the World Cup and has not become the deadline for the Barcelona target to make an announcement on his future. 

Barça hope he will move to Camp Nou while Atletico are offering him improved terms to stay where he is.
