The midfielder has made just one appearance -- in a game when Barça had already qualified

Denis Suarez is 'invisible' for Luis Enrique when it comes to the Champions League. The midfielder has only played once in Europe this season, against Borussia Monchengladbach. It was a game without meaning as Barça had already qualified for the knockout rounds as group winner.

In that unimportant game, Denis played 90 minutes. That's all he's played. In the rest of European games he was either on the bench of not in the squad -- as is the case on Wednesday.

Luis Enrique revealed his squad for the game against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday morning as Barça attempt to come from four goals behind.

Midfielder Suarez, 23, who signed in the summer, is an important player for Luis Enrique in La Liga (where he's played 947 minutes across 21 games, starting nine) and in the Copa del Rey (388 minutes, seven games, four starts), but he does not exist in the Champions League.

It's a curious circumstance that Denis has to accept. He dropped out of the squad for PSG after Andre Gomes returned from illness to 'rob' the former Villarreal man's place. Just one game in eight in the Champions League is something Luis Enrique has not been able to explain.
