Denis Suarez injures groin in Catalan Super Cup final
The midfielder was taken off in the first half
It's not been Denis Suarez's season so far. The midfielder returned to the Barcelona side for Wednesday's Catalan Super Cup after several games on the sideline.
However, his participation in the match ended in the 43rd minute. After driving forward, beating three players, he was tackled by Didac Vila in the penalty area. The tackle left both players injured and they were soon replaced.
Barça have since confirmed that Denis is suffering from a groin injury, although they have not confirmed how long he will be out for.
It's likely the former Villarreal and Sevill midfielder will undergo more tests at the training ground on Thursday.
The game ended 0-0, with Barcelona going on to win the trophy after a penalty shootout, with Paco Alcacer, Sergi Palencia, Abel Ruiz and Yerry Mina all scoring for the Blaugrana.
