Dembele's 'no' to PSG switch means Barça need to change their plans

Ousmane Dembele's reluctance to leave FC Barcelona is forcing the club to explore other options as they look to bring in Neymar before the transfer window closes next week. PSG would have covered the French winger's wages for the season, freeing up another salary space to pay Neymar. 

This means Barça either have to increase their cash offer, ask Neymar to reduce his wage demands or try to convince Dembele to make the switch.

Time is running out for Neymar, PSG and Barça to reach a conclusion as all parties want a potential deal wrapped up this weekend.

Dembele is someone PSG are keen on as it would help the club create two of the three forwards which won the World Cup with France. This is aside from negotiating deals with Ivan Rakitic and Todibo to go the other way. Barça have tried to explain to Dembele that a move to PSG would be the best option as he'd get more playing time, a higher salary and would be considered a star player. However, Ousmane isn't interested.

If Neymar joins Griezmann, Messi and Suarez as the attacking options it doesn't leave much room for a fifth attacker to get regular minutes. With Euro 2020 coming up, Barça hope that Dembele will value playing time over 'making it' at the Camp Nou.
