Deco closes player agency to start work as Barcelona's sporting director
The former Portugal international made the announcement on Tuesday
Deco announced Tuesday on Instagram that his agency is closing down. Therefore, there is no incompatibility for the former player to begin his work as FC Barcelona's sporting director.
Deco said: "D20 Sports hereby announces that we have closed our activities related to Career Management of football players and all other sports activities.
"It has been 8 years of hard work and dedication, as well as joyful partnerships and above all, the love for the game.
"We thank all employees, athletes, partners and clubs for these 8 wonderful years.
"We will always be grateful to everyone who trusted us, our services, and to everyone who was part of this incredible journey."
Among the players Deco represented was Barça winger Raphinha, who will now have to seek a new agent.
Deco is already working for Barça unofficially, although his appointment could not be finalised until the paperwork was cleared. In this way, he becomes Jordi Cruyff's replacement and will work side by side with Mateu Alemany on transfers.
