'De Telegraaf': Groningen's Reis to move to Barcelona
The deal will be worth almost eight million euros, according to reports
Barcelona are a step away from completing the signing of another player from the Dutch league. This time his name is Ludovit Reis, who plays for Groningen. According to De Telegraaf, Barcelona have reached an agreement to sign him for 7.7 million euros.
Following the signing of Frenkie de Jong, now it's Reis' turn. In theory, he will join Barça B to begin with but could do pre-season and the Asia tour with the first team. The 18-year-old midfielder, the reports say, is happy with that set up to begin with.
The youngster has made his name in the first team at Groningen this season, which has drawn interest from many clubs, not just Barça.
Pending official confirmation of the deal, Reis is expected to travel to Barcelona soon to sign a five-year deal. When will depend on the agendas of everyone involved. Once a date is fixed, Reis and his agent, Aleksandar Bursac, will make the trip to Catalonia.
Reis has Slovakian parents but was born in Holland and is a youth international for the country of his birth.
