De Jong: "I hope De Ligt comes with me to FC Barcelona"
The midfielder was the man of the match for Holland but insists that he won't try to influence his friend's next move
Frenkie De Jong has repeated his wish that his teammate at Ajax last season, Matthijs de Ligt, joins him at FC Barcelona. "I hope that de Ligt comes with me to Barça, I hope that happens," he told reporters in the mixed zone after Holland's 3-1 victory over England.
"Of course we've spoken about his future but it's something he and his family needs to decide."
"What I can't do is influence his decision. It's something he needs to sort out in the next few days with his people. He knows what I'd like (that decision) to be," he added. De Ligt will reveal his future club on Monday following the conclusion of the Nations League.
