Dani Alves, sanctioned with a two game ban for Atletico red

The Brazilian defender hacked Yannick Carrasco and was dissmised by the Manzano

Dani Alves was sent off against Atletico Madrid for hacking at Yannick Carrasco and he will be suspended for two games, the Competition Committee decided on Wednesday.

Gil Manzano went to look at the incident after being recommended by VAR and he quickly produced the red.

The referee said Alves “had no chance of winning the ball” in his report, which makes it an aggression.

It means he will not appear in the Barcelona kit until February 27. He will miss the games against Espanyol and Valencia in La Liga, and the Europa League clashes against Napoli because he is not registered.

Oscar Hernandez, Xavi’s brother and assistant, was sent off too and he will also be banned for two games.
