Manzano is a referee with a long history of bad decisions against Barcelona

If Cules believe the worst of it is over after Mateu Lahoz's refereeing display in Gran Canaria, they might be wrong. Gil Manzano will take charge of the clash with Atletico Madrid at Camp Nou on Sunday, a game which could be decisive in the title race. The referee has a long list of bad decisions against Barcelona.

Gil Manzano, born in Badajoz, moved to the top flight at 28 years old and at 29, in 2014, became an official on an international level without having reached 100 games in the top flight. He is now in his sixth season in la Liga, and although it's hard to believe, he was rated the third best last season.

Manzano sent off Neymar at La Rosaleda and ruled the Brazilian out of the Clasico because he wrote in his report that Neymar applauded him. Then he also sent off Luis Suarez in the semi-final of the Copa del Rey, against Atletico, leaving the Uruguayan banned for the final. Sergi Roberto and Yannick Carrasco were also sent off.

SIX BARCA WINS IN 11 Games

Gil Manzano has reffed Barca 11 times. Barca have won only six of those, drawing two and beaten in three. Atletico have seven wins under him in 10 games, two draws and one defeat.
