Youngster James McAtee has 18 months on his City deal and is drawing interest around Europe

Barcelona are one of a number of clubs keeping tabs on Manchester City youngster James McAtee, according to English outlet the Daily Mail.

The midfielder is into the final 18 months of his contract and several European sides have shown an interest in signing him, including Barça, per the report.

McAtee has scored 15 goals in 14 games this season for City's youth team, including a hat-trick in this week's UEFA Youth League defeat to Club Brugge.

Nicknamed the 'Salford Silva,' after David Silva, he has impressed the first-team coaching staff at City, including Pep Guardiola.

The Catalan coach loves his playing style and could give him minutes this season to prevent a possible departure from the Premier League side.

Manchester United, Ajax, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid are all said to be interested in the 19-year-old, too.
