Covid a tough blow to take for Ilias Akhomach

The damned virus has done a lot of damage. And now it’s cut short the enormous excitement Ilias Akhomach had at being invited to do pre-season with Barca’s first team. 

He was one of the kids Ronald Koeman chose, he’s great on the ball and at 17 years old has great potential, his big chance had come.

But Ilias tested positive for Covid-19 and, unlike Ramos Mingo, who did too but then was negative and able to return, Ilias has to had the same luck and he tested positive again.

He’s sad. That’s normal. He’s healthy, asymptomatic, which on one hand is good, but also make him more frustrated. His chance will come again but this is a tough blow for him to take.

He will play for Barca B this season. Akhomach can move in all areas of attack to create dange. In the meantime he’s working at home with physical exercises he can do; push-ups, abs, etc. Life’s never easy and he will come stronger out of this. He is destined to triumph with Barca.
