The January signings are in the squad for a league game for the first time

Denis and Deulofeu have once again been left out by Valverde

Ernesto Valverde has named his 18-man squad for Sunday's La Liga game against Alaves. There are no surprises, with just Andre Gomes missing out in respect to Barcelona's last game with a stomach bug.

Barça confirmed that the Portuguese midfielder was unable to train on Saturday and will sit the game out with a digestive problem. The midfielder had started the last two league games, against Real Sociedad and Real Betis, although he only played for a minute in the Copa del Rey win against Espanyol on Thursday.

As against Espanyol, the two January signings are both included in the squad, Philippe Coutinho and Yerry Mina. The Brazilian made his debut in the cup but could make his first league start this weekend. The Colombian, meanwhile, is still waiting for his first minutes since joining this month.

The new name in the squad is Nelson Semedo, who was left out against Espanyol after being included in the initial 19-man squad. He watched the game from the stands.

What doesn't change is the absence of two players who have lost importance. Denis Suarez and Gerard Deulofeu have both been omitted for the second game running, along with injured duo Thomas Vermaelen and Ousmane Dembele.
