The French striker has decided to reject the offer from Barcelona and stay at Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid are already preparing Antoine Griezmann's new contract after the player decided to reject the offer from Barcelona, according to Cadena COPE radio station.

COPE's 'El Partidazo' reports that the relevant people at Atletico Madrid are now preparing the finer details of the French striker's new deal. Aside from increasing his buyout clause it would also see Griezmann recieve a huge pay rise, earning €23m per season.

The player continues to remain quiet but has said that he will officially announce a decision on his future before the World Cup starts.

Ready to sign

In fact, some sources suggest that Griezmann could sign his new contract by the end of this week, in Lyon, which is very close to where Griezmann was born.

France will play the United States in Lyon next Saturday in their final friendly ahead of making their debut in the World Cup against Australia in Kazan.

Griezmann is currently preparing for the World Cup with the French national team in Clairefontaine, just outside of Paris.

Meanwhile Barcelona are still waiting to get a reponse to the offer they made for the striker.
