Controversy over Barcelona vs Espanyol kick-off time
The clubs may ask the LFP to change the time although they know this request is unlikely to be granted
Barcelona's league clash with Espanyol, set to take place on December 18 at 8.45pm CET, may be moved. Both clubs are willing to change after a request by the Catalan media Audiovisual Corporation so the game does not clash with the La Marato charity event.
According to RAC-1, the clubs are looking at the idea but there is not a great chance of pulling off a switch. They have asked the teams and now Barcelona, as the hosts, have to make a request to the LFP, whic Espanyol must back.
They would not change the day of the game, but just the time. La Marato takes place during prime-time on television and has a big audience and raises funds. Both clubs think the LFP might not accept the change. The game is set to go out on Movistar as the Game of the Week.
